'SVSC' is Nothing Great Than 'Naayak'

Big budgeted star heroes projects depend more on opening week collections and producers too never bother on long run once they pocket the expenditure cost with minimal profits. This is the current mantra ruling Tollywood market and is applicable to all mass masala formula flicks which are lacking in content to have a decent run of at least 50 or 75 days in theatres. Very rarely do we see something like 'Pokiri, Magadheera, Dookudu' or 'Gabbar Singh.' In total contrast with these flicks was the project of 'Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu.'

Being a multi starrer with Mahesh Babu and Venkatesh, producer Dil Raju and director Srikant Addala have established a joint family concept away from many commercial elements. So, analysts expected a very long haul of movie at BO when collections picked up from third and fourth days post release. However, the situation of 'SVSC" seems to be nothing different from mass masala formula movie like 'Naayak.' Yes, today in many of the A, B & C class centers, 'SVSC' is lifted from theatres mercilessly due to severe deficits like what has happened to 'Naayak.' Why a family entertainer like 'SVSC' failed to sustain the minimum break-even revenues in its fifth and sixth weeks is a question which has to be answered?
