A movie which has got super hit ratings from critics and a movie which has come from such a director who has enormous brand value in overseas market yet the film which we are talking about ‘Life Is Beautiful’ is doing only normal business. We have got our own reports from overseas exhibitors who are speaking quite low about ‘Life Is Beautiful.’ Buying the exhibition rights for fancy prices, obviously many have expected the brand of Sekhar Kammula to do the magic at BO and mint them money. Once ratings too were satisfactorily out in web circles, ‘LIB’ could have rocked everywhere.
But, story is something different. More than the positive ratings, it is the weak word of mouth public talk which damaged the fate. ‘LIB’ has clearly fallen short of expectations and the name of Sekhar alone could not save it. Not to degrade the film totally, there were definitely few positives but drawbacks were more in numbers. If ‘LIB’ could have got the response on equal intensity with ‘Happy Days,’ by now we would have got new records on hand. Despite bombarding opening collections and with no strong opposition in market yet revenue graph of LIB is disappointingly falling down.
