Success of ‘The Dirty Picture’ made film makers to milk more on the subject of Silk Smitha. Take it from North to South, script writers and directors are fighting out to bring more and more versions on tragedy filled short life of Silk. Among the all, here is one man Vinu Chakravarthy who actually introduced Smitha to films has got a script penned for Sana Kahn’s southern version of Silk Smitha titled as ‘Profile.’
‘In fact, ‘The Dirty Picture’ just cashed in on glam and sexy portrayal of simple girl whom I introduced to industry. Smitha was my student and I was her God-Father. I found her in Eluru at a flour grinding mill when somebody introduced her to me saying that she wants to act in films. I coined the word Silk and introduced her. I’ve written what the actual Silk is,’ said Vinu. They say, ‘TDP’ was more of fiction drama with too much of skin show from Vidya while ‘Profile’ would be an authentic portrayal of Silk’s life and the actual biopic.
Sana Khan has made a Silk library by purchasing all the DVDs of famous Silk movies. ‘I am trying to adapt myself as this glamorous lady. I am doing a research on about Silk and her original personality,’ Said Sana.
