While intelligent audiences feel sorry for the pity fate of Tollywood, it is true to some extent that our heroes ranging from Mahesh Babu to Ramcharan to Junior NTR are getting struck in the vicious trap of mass masala cinema. Yes, the release of ‘Dammu’ and its positive talk in lower class centers is making sure that after ‘Businessman’ and ‘Rachcha,’ it is going to be the turn of ‘Dammu’ to show the commercial potential of a Telugu cinema defying logics.
When ‘Businessman’ was released, there were different opinions from critics ranging from poor content to misleading direction of Puri Jagannath. Despite these negative feedbacks, movie stood as an industry hit creating new benchmarks in commerce. Following Mahesh Babu then came in Ramcharan with ‘Rachcha.’ Same story repeated and Cherry’s image was the savior. Now, the film makers have started to publicize ‘Rachcha’ as South Indian Record Holder.
Nothing to change and Junior NTR is no where less than the above two to show his heroics. No surprises even if ‘Dammu’ climbs up the ladder to reach the top list of commercial blockbusters of Telugu cinema history.
