Red Star with Real Star @ AP on Sale

It is alone in Tollywood that revolutionary films are given a separate identity. Red Star R. Naryana Murthy is known to produce these kinds of films. One such subject currently in discussion is large scale protests at Kakarapalli village near Sompeta against the Thermal Power Plant and police firings issued against public in this part of Andhra Pradesh has rocked the State.

Narayana Murthy took up this issue and wanted to make a film out of the struggle. He started the film as ‘People’s War’ and changed it to ‘Ammakaniki Andhra Pradesh,’ which is obviously to attract wrath from some quarters of politicians. As per the reports, Murthy and Real Star Sreehari are playing lead roles. This film would also include glorious past of peasants struggle famously known as ‘Srikakulam Poratam’ dating to late 60s. Murthy toured all the affected areas of Sompeta interacting with the villagers opposing the project before beginning the production. ‘Somepeta is witnessing one of the greatest movements of people in the history of independent India,’ he said.
