Out of six films released this week, three have been significant because of their subject and promotion. With all big pictures winding up their production work for harvest festival, this week we have seen a love and message oriented flick ‘Journey’ along with Sxx subject ‘Rathi Nirvedam’ and terrorism filled ‘Duiya.’
‘Rati Nirvedam,’ starring Shweta Menon and Sreejith Vijay is remake of the Malayalam classic of the same name. In the 1978 classic, Jayabharati played role of sensuous and voluptuous lead while in this new version, Shweta Menon may not sound effective to the contemporary audience. Film is not even recognized as released by Telugu audience. ‘Duniya’ is a feeble attempt on terrorism abetted from across the border but lack of experience in the team showed off. However, it is a great effort by new artists and director LK Rao that have been wasted. ‘Journey’ is again the dubbed version of Tamil film ‘Engeyum Eppodum,’ directed by Sarvananan with Sharwanand, Ananya, Anjali and Jai in leads is a compact Love Story with journey of people traveling in two busses between Vijayawada and Hyderabad either way is presented to us by Kondeti Suresh. Lucky that, film is rated by critics from above average to hit but being dubbing film in nature, this too might stand as an alien stuff. Uday Kiran, Shweta Basu Prasad’s ‘Nuvvekkadunte Nenakkadunta’ released yesterday has also got the severe death blow from audience.
