Top Lyricist Supporting Dubbing Films

While the dubbing films imbroglio stills continues in Tollywood, top lyricist Bhuvana Chandra has taken an initiative and suggested that a meeting of all concerned parties from the industry to resolve the issue. ‘Thousands of families live on dubbing films and restricting them would take livelihood from them,’ he told reporters today.

Apart from artistes and technicians even some theatres are dependent on dubbings films and it is not fair to ask to restrict and discourage dubbing films. Bhuvana Chandra, who wrote songs for the dubbing film ‘7th Sense’ recently, said that Telugu producers themselves have been taking dubbing films.

With the success of ‘Dookudu,’ our Tollywood euphoria ascended to new peaks and there was loud talk of restricting number of screens for dubbing films and discouraging them. A representation was sent to Government and affiliated bodies of Film Chamber discussed it but there was no consensus. While the issue is raging on one side, there were other voices that rose in unison as to why not the same rule be applied to importing artistes and technicians as industry benefited from government through subsidies for shifting the base from Chennai to city.
