Come Sankranti, the festive spirit is not complete without a couple of big films hitting the screens. This tradition has been coming ever since top banners emerged and the stardom has gained currency. Sankranti being the harvest festival, expectation have been high since long.
NTR, ANR clash followed by Krishna Vs Sobhan Babu and Balakrishna vs Chiranjeevi to now Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR and others, the competition became healthier and technical superiority advanced though there are shortcomings in many other departments.
This Sankranti, we are to see Nandamuri Balakrishna, the senior in Tollywood as Chiranjeevi is busy otherwise, is coming up his film ‘Adhinayakudu’ directed by Paruchuri Murali and produced by ML Padma Kumar Chowdary. The film has political overtures and is described as an entertaining thriller in which the Nandamuri star will be seen in three different roles, one of which is that of an elderly person. The get up was well received and it remains to be seen how it works out in the film. Saloni and Lakshmi Rai are the heroines in this movie and shooting is almost complete except for one single song.
While ‘Dookudu’ is still running smart remaining on top of the charts, Mahesh Babu’s ‘Businessman’ is getting ready as shooting process is going on at a break neck speed. Will it or will it not lit up Sankranti flare is something to be watched.
‘Bodyguard,’ which was a roaring success in Malayalam and Hindi is also lined up for Telugu Sankranti with Venkatesh as hero and Trisha, the heroine directed by Gopichand Malineni, produced by Bellamkonda Suresh under Sri Sai Ganesh Productions (P) Ltd. and presented by Multi-dimension Entertainments (P) Ltd. There are other entries as well but all eyes are on the top three stars and their films in Sankranti race.
