So, special was that Mayuri chose to cook Kheer at home to feed them. When asked, why did she refuse to buy sweets from market Asha replied ‘it was a great feeling to be in the old age home on Diwali. It is a home I visit often. In a time when sweets are so adulterated, I made Kheer for them at home. It was so nice to be able to make something for these old and destitute people who have been left alone by their own. They were all so happy because at this age all they crave for is company and some chatting.’ It is good to see people like Asha Saini making these old people have a memorable Diwali.
