'Jai Bolo Telangana' release to be delayed

With Censor Board members feeling that some scenes in `Jai Bolo Telangana’ directed by noted director N Shankar, may disturb peace and harmony in the state, the release of film will be delayed further.

According to sources, the film, `Jai Bolo Telangana’ was originally scheduled to be released on January 28 across the state. With Censor Board raising objections and refusing to give clearance to the movie, the film would be released mostly in February, the sources said. The film deals with the agitation for separate Telangana state formation.

Meanwhile, film director Shankar has denied reports that the movie evokes hatred against the people of Seemandhra regions. He said that the film represents the democratic movement of Telangana people, their aspirations and sentiments.

“As a jury member for National awards and participant of several National and international film festivals, I will never create scenes that disturb peace, harmony and sentiments in the region,” Shankar pointed out after a meeting with the Censor Board members. “Is it a crime to project tears and problems of Telangana people in the film,” he questioned.
