Phule Release Date Announced

Controversial Film Locks Release Date

The much-anticipated film Phule, starring Pratik Gandhi and Patralekhaa, will now release on Friday, April 25. The film, directed by Anant Mahadevan, was initially set to release on April 11 but faced backlash over allegations of tarnishing the Brahmin community's image. Former Maharashtra minister Chhagan Bhujbal met Mahadevan and the producers to address the issue and emphasized the film's global importance.

Bhujbal believes the film is a significant work that should be seen by all, not just in India but worldwide. Director Mahadevan defended the film, stating that they made it honestly, sticking to facts and research without exaggeration. The director also shared that the lives of Jyotiba and Savitribai Phule were so dramatic that cinematic liberties weren't needed. Phule is a biographical film based on the lives of the social reformer couple who played a major role in setting up India's first school for girls.

The film's release was delayed due to controversy, but it seems the producers have addressed the concerns, and the film will now hit theaters on Friday. Phule promises to be an inspiring film, highlighting the contributions of Jyotiba and Savitribai Phule to Indian society with Pratik Gandhi and Patralekhaa in lead roles.
