Sodara Will Make You Laugh and Cry -Sampoornesh and Sanjosh

Sodara Movie Release on April 25

Actor Sampoornesh Babu, who has built a unique space for himself in Telugu cinema through offbeat and entertaining films, is now set to return with Sodara, a movie based on the bond between brothers. In this heartfelt family entertainer, Sanjosh co-stars alongside Sampoornesh as the second lead. The film is directed by Man Mohan Manem Palli and produced by Chandra Chagandla under the Can Entertainments banner. Sodara is set to release on April 25.

Speaking to the media, Sampoornesh Babu shared his thoughts:

“We all know how special the bond between brothers is. Sodara brings that emotional connection to the silver screen. This film is unlike my previous movies—it’s a family story centered on two brothers. I play the elder brother, a character who carries responsibilities and emotional depth. While portraying this role, I was reminded of my real-life elder brother Narasimha Chari. It wasn’t easy at first—I struggled for a few days, especially since I was juggling other film shoots. But I paused everything else until I completed this character, as I didn’t want to lose the emotional continuity.

“Though the film contains the humor audiences expect from me, it also offers strong emotional value. After watching it, people will feel compelled to call their siblings. The comedy here is soft, not outrageous—it’s something the whole family can enjoy together. Many ask me why I haven’t done another film like Hrudaya Kaleyam. The answer is simple—scripts of that calibre haven’t come my way. I’ve listened to several, but none truly clicked. If I find one with stronger comedy than Hrudaya Kaleyam, I’ll do it. Apart from Sodara, I’ve also acted in other upcoming films and a web series titled Super Subbu. As an actor, I still dream of portraying diverse characters—something intense like Upendra’s role in A.”

Sanjosh, the film’s co-lead, added:

“I previously acted in Beveras, but sharing the screen with Sampoo as his younger brother in this film has been a joy. Sodara beautifully explores the bond between an innocent elder brother and a modern, updated younger one. Our director describes this film as a ‘bromantic’ drama—it’s emotional and deeply rooted in family values.

“There hasn’t been a film like this in Telugu cinema that depicts brotherhood so earnestly. After watching it, audiences will feel the urge to reach out to their siblings. The movie touches the heart in a way that reminds everyone of their own real-life sibling relationships.

“Veteran actor Babu Mohan plays our father in the film and delivers a responsible, emotionally grounded performance. From the beginning, I believed Sampoo was the right fit for this role, and he said yes as soon as he heard the story. The audience will also feel the same. The film speaks of a kind of brotherhood that’s sadly rare in today’s times. If this movie inspires even a few people to reconnect with their siblings, it will be a victory for us. Sodara will make audiences laugh, and it will also move them to tears.

“Sampoo and I are both positive people with a strong sense of character, and our journey has been fulfilling. Very soon, I’ll be playing the lead in a new film based on a real incident—about a clash between an egoistic police officer and a common man.”

With a blend of clean humor and emotional storytelling, Sodara aims to resonate deeply with families and siblings, offering a cinematic experience that’s both heartwarming and thought-provoking.
