L2 Empuraan Poor Domestic Box Office Performance

L2 Empuraan Collections Crashed

Mohanlal's Empuraan, the biggest project from Mollywood, has emerged as a box office success, collecting over 260 crore worldwide. The film created records in pre-release business, advance bookings, and box office collections, becoming the first 250 crore grosser for Mollywood. However, despite its massive success overseas, Empuraan had a disappointing finish at the Indian box office. The film's box office performance was marked by a huge first weekend, but it crashed in the second week, failing to meet expectations.

The film's domestic collection stands at around 85 crore, with Manjummel Boys, another successful Malayalam film, looking likely to surpass it with its collection of 90 crore. Empuraan's mixed word-of-mouth impacted its performance from the second week, leading to a disappointing finish. The film's performance in other languages like Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi was disastrous, with mixed reviews affecting its collections from the opening day itself.

Despite its disappointing finish in India, Empuraan has emerged as the top-grossing Malayalam film worldwide, surpassing Manjummel Boys' previous record of 235 crore. The film's success overseas was massive, breaking previous records with a double margin. Empuraan's worldwide collection of over 250 crore makes it a box office success, but its performance in India was not up to expectations.

The film's scale and budget were significant factors in its box office performance. While Empuraan gathered okay-range numbers in India, it did not create records in any territory or language. The film's mixed word-of-mouth and disappointing finish in India have sparked discussions about its box office performance and the factors that contributed to its success and failure.
