Cases filed against Vijay Devarakonda,Rana,Prakash Raj and others regarding Betting Apps. Hyderabad police are using iron fist against those who are promoting the illegal betting apps. After going tough on the youtube influencers for promoting the betting apps and slapping cases against them, now they decided to go hard on the top Tollywood celebrities.
It is coming out that cases have been filed against Vijay Devarakonda, Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Vijay Devarakonda, Manchu Lakshmi, and Nidhi Agarwal along with 25 other celebrities. The cops registered cases under sections 318(4),112,r/w 49 BNS,3,3(A),4 TSGA,66-D ITA by Miyapur Police Station under Cyberabad Commiserate.
The police decided to take action based on the complaint filed by 32-year-old businessman, Phanindra Sarma in which he alleged that celebrities have been influencing and misleading people to invest their hard earned money in the illegal betting apps. Earlier Punjagautta police station filed cases against 11 influencers Vishnu Priya, Sudheer, Harsha Sai, Imran Khan and Kiran Goud for promoting these apps.
In his complaint, Phanindra mentioned “It has come to his knowledge that people are actively engaging in such apps and most of them have already lost their hard-earned money into it. Even though he has been influenced by such betting applications, and was about to deposit in one such betting/gambling/casino website, due to his family’s word of caution, he did not do so. While using his social media applications, especially Instagram and Facebook, he came across several celebrities and influencers, who actively promoted several illegal betting apps, websites and other platforms that needed to be downloaded on mobile phones and used for betting and gambling."
