Prabhas scored a hit with Mr.Perfect directed by Dasaradh and Dil Raju who produced the film raked in good projects. However, he landed in trouble when Mummidi Shyamala , writer approached the court in 2017 after 6 years of the film release in 2011 alleging that the makers copied the content of the film from her novel Naa Manasu Korindi Ninne.
Following this, Dil Raju and Dasaradh approached Supreme Court, seeking dismissal of the case stating the copyrights violation period was expired. Supreme Court bench consisting of Justice J.B. Pardiwala and Justice Mahadevan gave temporary relief to the producer and director issuing a temporary stay on the court proceedings.
The court however cautioned Dil Raju's advocate Nirajan Reddy to resolve the matter amicably. Dil Raju's advocate Krishna Dev argued in the court that the High Court already dismissed the case and urged the court to quash it under Section 468 of the CrPC, considering the time limitation. He further sought dismissal under Section 63 of the Copyright Act.
