Sandalwood Star Yash is playing the role of Ravan in the Bollywood magnum opus Ramayan under the direction of Nitesh Tiwari. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita.
Yash who started shooting for his role of Ravan in the film speaking to scribes, shared why he gave green signal to do the role. He said “It’s a very fascinating character. I wouldn’t have done it for any other reason. If you asked me if I wanted to play any other character in Ramayana, probably not. For me, Ravana is the most exciting character to play as an actor. I like the shades and nuances of this particular character. There is a vast scope to present this character in a different way,"
Yash revealed that Namit Malhotra from VFX company DNEG and Prime Focus who was working for the VFX of his film Toxic introduced him to Ramayan project. He added “He spoke about Ramayan. They had been working on it since many years and he said I have this vision, this is what is happening and I am not able to put it together with the cast and all of that,”
