Parvathy Opens Up on Why She Quit Doing Kannada Films

Actress Exits Kannada Industry

Parvathy Thiruvothu a renowned actress in Malayalam cinema has spoken about her decision to step away from Kannada films after doing four projects in the industry. Parvathy revealed that she was shocked by the Kannada cinema approach to performance which she found to be slightly exaggerated. She cited an example of being asked to give 5 percent more of an expression which was unlike the subtle approach she was used to in Malayalam cinema. Moreover she felt that the roles offered to her in Kannada films were limited to smiling looking pretty falling in love or feeling incomplete without a partner. With no scope for exploring different characters or storylines Parvathy decided to focus on Malayalam cinema.

Parvathy decision to step away from Kannada films was influenced by her desire to explore more nuanced and complex characters. She felt that Malayalam cinema offered her more opportunities to showcase her acting skills and experiment with different roles.
