Aashique franchise, one and two turned out to be blockbusters and when the makers announced Aashique 3, genex movie lovers got excited. Karthik Aryan and Triptii Dimiri were roped in to play the lead pair. Now reports are coming that Triptii Dimri walked out of the project and this impacted the film and it got postponed.
A source shared “Triptii was excited to headline the romance, but that’s not going to happen now. Aashiqui 3 is undergoing a [title]-related dispute. So, it has been postponed indefinitely," It is not clear whether Triptii walked away on her own or creative differences happened resulting in her ouster.
The source says, "The fundamental requirement to be the heroine of Aashiqui 3 is innocence reflecting through, and as observed by the team behind the film, Triptii Dimri with her recent films has become too exposed to be cast in this romantic film which demands purity in demeanour from the female lead."
The source continues "Aashiqui is a legendary, soulful love story and the makers do not see Tripti fitting the parameters. After Animal, there has been no buzz around her. More so, her solo standing at the box office hasn’t proven profitable with her recent films,"
Anurag Basu is set to direct the project. Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt were supposed to co produce but later Bhushan Kumar said that he is producing it alone and the project would be titled Tu Aashiqui Hai.
