Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the acclaimed director of films like Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh, and Animal, recently appeared as a guest on Indian Idol 15. During the special episode, which celebrated the one-year anniversary of Animal, Sandeep shared heartfelt insights about his journey, family support, and addressing criticism. He credited his family, especially his mother, for their unwavering support during his struggling days as a filmmaker.

Sandeep's journey into filmmaking was not without its challenges. He initially hoped to pursue engineering or medicine but eventually discovered his true passion for storytelling. After studying film in Sydney, Sandeep took nearly 6-7 years to establish himself as a director. His mother's support was instrumental in his success, and he fondly recalled how she funded his education and even the production of Arjun Reddy when no producers came on board.

Sandeep also addressed the criticism that he does not give much importance to nurturing and motherly bonds in his films. He acknowledged that his films have been criticized for glorifying violence, promoting toxic masculinity, and trivializing women. However, Sandeep assured that if he ever writes a mother-son story, it will be positive and filled with good vibes.
