Thala Ajith is known for his high octane action entertainers. His upcoming film Vidaamuyarchi directed by Magizh Thirumeni is capturing the imagination of all. The fans of Ajith are waiting eagerly for the film's release.
In the midst of all this, the makers got a huge shock. It is known that Lyca Productions is bankrolling the project in a prestigious manner. Reports are coming that the film is the remake of Hollywood film Break Down starring Kurt Russel directed by Jonathan Mostow which released in 1997.
Now the makers of Break Down slapped a legal notice of $15million(127 crs Rs) for the copyright violations. Paramount Pictures slapped the legal notice to Lyca Productions and it has to be seen how the makers react to it. It is known that many Indian filmmakers drew inspiration from Hollywood actioners and many during that time, freemade many Hollywood films.
However with Magizh Thirumeni blatantly copying everything right from the poster, teaser and trailer and shooting the film in Azerbaijan to give Break Down feel, Paramount Pictures are forced to take the extreme step.
