Hats off to Ramgopal Varma’s vision and he alone can make movies work even without a clear content mixing reality with fiction. ‘Raktha Charitra’ has completed a dream weekend and audience especially political enthusiasts have watched the movie to know about how did Ramu interpret the history of bloodshed in Rayalaseema faction?
A clear view point is that, as Paritala Ravi’s family and Maddelacheruvu Suri’s family are holding a strong fort till today in Anantapur (faction) politics, Varma has come out projecting Ravi as hero in first part and Suri has hero in second part which could cool the tempers of both the families. Result is that no significant issues raised from either of the families. Then who needs to take the role of villain; many thanks to Usha Rani, sister of Obul Reddy who doesn’t have real heroes surviving in her family. That is where Varma cashed upon and Obul Reddy has been made major attraction and central point in his first part.
It is also gossiped that Suri has financed for both the parts of ‘Raktha Charitra’ in order to make a political re-beginning very soon and Varma has also well utilized the dead real life character of NTR to project in a negative shade, thus generating much needed hype and controversy required to pull his movie. Of course, Varma may not be that dare to bring live faction (political) personalities in grey shades and that is why he made the dead Obul Reddy and NTR scapegoats for his ‘Raktha Charitra.’
