Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, and Madhuri Dixit-starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has taken the box office by storm, registering a record-breaking first-day collection of ₹35.5cr. This impressive figure marks the highest opening day earnings in Aaryan's career, nearly tripling the ₹13.45cr opening day collection of its predecessor, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
Directed by Anees Bazmee, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was screened in over 4,200 shows across India, with an overall occupancy of 75.30%. Delhi-NCR and Mumbai accounted for the most screenings, with 957 and 789 shows, respectively. Despite having fewer shows than rival film Singham Again, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 gave tough competition, collecting significantly less than Singham Again's ₹44cr on Friday.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is projected to break Aaryan's previous box office records, potentially becoming his highest-grossing film. The horror-comedy sequel may surpass the collections of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (₹184.32cr) and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (₹108.95cr). Vidya Balan's return as Manjulika, a character she first played in the 2007 original, is also expected to contribute to the film's success.
Triptii Dimri may also achieve her highest-grossing film with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, beating the record of Bad Newz (₹64.53cr). With its impressive opening day collection and promising projections, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is poised to dominate the box office.
