Rakt Bramhand: The Bloody Kingdom Inspired From A Short Story

Samantha RB Is About Power Politics

Get ready for the highly anticipated Netflix series, Rakt Bramhand: The Bloody Kingdom, a six-episode period fantasy directed by Rahi Anil Barve of Tumbbad fame. Inspired by G.A. Kulkarni's short story Vidhushak, this captivating tale follows two princes vying for a vacant throne after an emperor's demise.

Set in a unique fictional world, Rakt Bramhand unfolds in the courtyard of Raktakshee Devi, a goddess with red eyes. The story revolves around the rivalry between two princes, played by Aditya Roy Kapur and Ali Fazal, as they engage in a series of challenges to prove their strength and wisdom. The series also features Wamiqa Gabbi and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in pivotal roles.

With production expected to wrap up by November-end, Rakt Bramhand: The Bloody Kingdom is slated for a late 2025 premiere. Initially conceived as a feature film, Barve opted for a long-format treatment to do justice to the narrative's complexity. The project gained momentum with the involvement of Raj & DK, creators of The Family Man and Farzi, and Sita R. Menon.
