Ram Gopal Varma, known for his bold and provocative films, is set to delve into the controversial world of social media in his upcoming Telugu thriller, "Saaree." The film aims to expose the darker side of online platforms and the impact they have on relationships and particularly vulnerable youth.
"Social media has become a breeding ground for harmful behavior and unhealthy relationships," states RGV, adding, "It's affecting the lives of young people who are caught in its web." He expresses concern about the increasing promiscuity facilitated by platforms like Instagram, highlighting the dangers young girls face without realizing the consequences. "This movie aims to open the eyes of at least a few young girls and make them aware of the risks," he emphasizes.
"Saaree," inspired by real-life incidents, is directed by Giri Krishna Kamal and produced under RGV - AARVI Productions. The film features young actors Satya Yadu and Aaradhya Devi in lead roles, exploring a complex love story amidst the backdrop of social media's dark side.
"We even recorded a full video song, 'I Want Love,' using Artificial Intelligence, which has garnered positive responses in various languages," adds RGV.
With his recent films like "Vyooham" and "Konda" failing to resonate with audiences, RGV is hoping to make a comeback with "Saaree," a film that tackles a contemporary issue and promises a compelling narrative. The film is set to release worldwide on December 20th in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam languages, potentially reaching a wide audience and sparking important conversations about social media's impact on society.
