Ajith Kumar, popularly known as 'Thala,' is set to make a remarkable comeback to motorsports as the team owner and principal driver of Ajith Kumar Racing. The renowned actor will compete in the Michelin 24H Series, specifically in the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup category, at the 20th edition of the Michelin 24H Dubai. This marks Ajith's return to motor racing after a hiatus.
Ajith's passion for motorsports began at 18, participating in the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship. He later ventured into open-wheel racing, competing in the National Formula India Single Seater Championship and Formula BMW Asia Championship. Ajith recently expressed, "Racing is the only time I feel whole," highlighting his dedication to the sport.
Ajith Kumar Racing boasts an impressive lineup, featuring GT4 2024 champion Fabian Duffieux, GT3 champion Mathieu Detry, and F4 British Champion Cam McLeod. The team will be supported by Bas Koeten Racing, a leading endurance racing outfit, handling logistics, car maintenance, and race strategy.
