This decision was made following multiple complaints from Sikh groups, who claimed the film portrayed the Sikh community in a negative light.
Emergency is a biographical drama that revolves around the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, played by Kangana Ranaut. The film boasts an impressive cast, including Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Mahima Chaudhry as Pupul Jayakar, and Milind Soman as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw.
