Alia Bhatt Jigra Embroiled In Controversy

Alia Accused for Jigra fake collections

The release of Alia Bhatt's Jigra has sparked controversy, with Divya Khosla Kumar accusing Bhatt of faking the film's box office collections. Divya shared an image of an empty theater on Instagram, claiming poor attendance at Jigra screenings. She alleged, "Khud hi tickets kharide aur fake collections announce kar diye" (You bought tickets yourself and announced fake collections).

The dispute began when similarities were noted between Jigra and Kumar's own film, Savi, both centered around prison breaks. Divya who is wife of T Series owner Bhushan Kumar acknowledged the similarity, stating every film has its unique journey. Savi, a remake of Anything for Her, has reportedly proven its worth on its own merits.

Jigra, directed by Vasan Bala, opened at ₹4.55cr on its first day. Despite the controversy, the film's performance will be closely watched. The accusations have sparked debate about box office transparency and the ethics of film promotion.
