The incident reportedly occurred early this morning, around 4:45 AM, when Govinda’s licensed revolver misfired, striking him in the knee. He was immediately admitted to the ICU, where doctors successfully removed the bullet. Govinda is now stable and out of danger. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accidental discharge of the firearm.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning at his residence in Juhu, Mumbai, as Govinda was preparing to leave for Kolkata. The actor was rushed to Criti Care hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. Thankfully, he is now out of danger and recovering well.
In an audio message shared through Shiv Sena leader Krishna Hegde, Govinda expressed his gratitude to his well-wishers. He said, “Namaste, pranam. I am Govinda. Thanks to your blessings, my parents’ blessings, and the grace of my guru... I was shot, but the bullet has been removed. I thank the doctors here, especially Dr. Agarwal. Thank you all for your prayers and support.”
According to Govinda's aide, Shashi Sinha, the accident occurred while the actor was putting his licensed revolver back into the almirah when it slipped and discharged, hitting him below the left knee. The bullet was successfully removed during surgery, and the actor is stable. His daughter, Tina Ahuja, is at the hospital with him and confirmed that he will remain in the ICU for a day before further assessments on his condition.
Govinda's wife, Sunita Ahuja, who was out of town during the incident, has since rushed back to be by his side.
