Renowned choreographer Shaik Jani, also known as Jani Master, was arrested by Cyberabad Police in Bengaluru on Thursday, August 15, 2024. He was wanted in connection with a sexual assault and threats case filed against him by an assistant choreographer.
The victim reported the incident to the Raidurgam police, who registered a 'zero FIR' and subsequently transferred the case to the Narsingi police station based on jurisdiction.
Jani Master was accused of multiple instances of sexual assault and threats against the victim, occurring during the course of their professional relationship. The police invoked sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and other relevant laws. He went into hiding following the registration of the case.
The arrest of Jani Master marked a significant development in the investigation, bringing the alleged perpetrator to justice.
