Ravi Teja and Harish Shankar's action drama, Mr. Bachchan, is set to make its OTT debut on Netflix on September 12, less than a month after its theatrical release on August 15. The film, an official remake of Ajay Devgn's hit movie Raid, failed to impress at the box office and received criticism for it's poor execution. Despite this, those who skipped the film in theatres are looking forwards to see the film on Netflix, which will be available in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
Netflix announced the OTT details on social media, sharing a striking poster of RaviTeja from the movie. Fans expressed their enthusiasm towards the film's digital release, while some were surprised by the quick transition from theaters to OTT. Mr. Bachchan marks the third collaboration between RaviTeja and Harish Shankar, following Shock and Mirapakay.
The film also marks the Telugu debut of newcomer Bhagyashri Borse, who earlier had a brief role in Chandu Champion. Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under People Media Factory, Mr. Bachchan features music composed by Mickey J Meyer. Despite its lackluster performance in theaters, there is anticipation to see how it will fare on digital screens, given RaviTeja's popularity among Telugu audiences.
With its OTT release, Mr. Bachchan will reach a wider audience. The quick transition from theaters to OTT is a testament to the changing landscape of film distribution and consumption. As the film industry continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how Mr. Bachchan performs on Netflix and whether it can redeem itself after a disappointing theatrical run.
