GOAT First Day Worldwide Collection

GOAT fell short of LEO in opening

Vijay's latest film, The Greatest of All Time or GOAT, has made a significant impact at the domestic box office, raking in Rs 65+ crore on its opening day. The film's Tamil shows contributed a substantial Rs 55+ crore, followed by Telugu and Hindi shows with Rs 5+ crore and Rs 3+ crore, respectively. The film has managed to collect 126+ crores globally on its first day. Despite not being released in national multiplex chains in North India due to non-adherence to theatrical guidelines, the film has cemented Thalapathy Vijay's box office dominance.

The film's success is notable, considering it opened to mixed reviews from the audience. While some praised Thalapathy Vijay's performance in a double role, others criticized the film's thin plot. The Telugu version, in particular, suffered due to poor promotions and weak reviews, falling short of Leo's opening day collections. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The Greatest of All Time features Thalapathy Vijay, Prabhu Deva, Prashanth, Sneha, Jayaram, Yogi Babu, and Mohan in significant roles.

The film's storyline revolves around Gandhi, an agent with the Special Anti-Terrorist Squad (SATS), who is called back for a critical mission after years of service. Released in theatres worldwide on September 5 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, The Greatest of All Time marks Thalapathy Vijay's penultimate film before his foray into politics.
