Vettaiyan inks fancy deal in TS and AP. Rajinikanth's "Vettaiyan" Scores Big in Telugu States, Proving Superstar's Enduring Appeal.
Superstar Rajinikanth's enduring popularity continues to soar in the Telugu states, with his upcoming film "Vettaiyan" fetching a whopping Rs 17 crores for its distribution rights in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This follows the resounding success of his recent film "Jailer," which raked in over Rs 35 crore in the same region.
A distributor revealed, "Asean-Suresh, who acquired the rights for 'Jailer' for Rs 13 crores and reaped handsome profits, is once again betting big on Rajinikanth's charisma and action-packed films." They are confident that "Vettaiyan," another action-adventure, will replicate the box office success of "Jailer."
While some of Rajinikanth's previous films like "Darbar" and "Laal Salaam" failed to resonate with audiences, the Tamil superstar still commands a loyal following in the Telugu states. This latest acquisition price, the highest ever offered for a Rajinikanth film in the Telugu market, highlights the distributors' faith in its success.
The distributor added, "The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, and Fahadh Faasil. Multi-starrers are currently performing well at the box office, which further fuels the optimism surrounding 'Vettaiyan'."
Directed by "Jai Bhim" director T J Gnanavel, "Vettaiyan" promises to expose corruption in the online education system, tackling the manipulation of numbers to attract more students. The film's thought-provoking premise, coupled with Rajinikanth's star power and the ensemble cast, is set to make "Vettaiyan" a compelling and engaging cinematic experience.
