Harish Shankar Returning His Remuneration Over Mr Bachchan Debacle

HS To Return His Remuneration

The recently released film "Mr. Bachchan" starring Ravi Teja has turned out to be a massive flop at the box office, despite having big names attached to it. The film, directed by Harish Shankar, was released on August 15, 2024, and has been rejected by the audience in a big way. The producers, People Media Factory, are expected to incur losses of over Rs 20 crore.

Harish Shankar, who was paid a whopping Rs 15 crore to direct the film, has decided to return a part of his remuneration to compensate the buyers. The producer, T G Vishwa Prasad, has also promised to return a part of the investment to some buyers. The film, which is an official remake of the Hindi hit "Raid", failed to impress the audience despite having super hit songs and a decent first half.

Ravi Teja has scored yet another flop after "Eagle", while Harish Shankar is facing the heat for his boasts before the film's release. His new film with Ram is also in doubt after the failure of "Mr. Bachchan". The film's failure has led to it being released on OTT platforms in less than three weeks, with Netflix grabbing the rights for Rs 33 crores.

The film's director, Harish Shankar, has stated that the trolls on "Mr. Bachchan" are personal and targeted towards him. However, the failure of the film is what matters, and it has raised questions about Harish Shankar's direction and Ravi Teja's choice of films. Despite the failure, the film's OTT release is expected to help recover some of the losses incurred by the producers.
