Jaya Bachchan different take on Abhishek and Aishwarya

Jaya Bachchan on Abhishek and Aish

Jaya Bachchan differentiates Abhishek and Aishwarya. Jaya Bachchan: Strict with Children, Not Daughter-in-Law, Reflects on Changing Family Dynamics.

Jaya Bachchan, known for her outspoken nature and candid conversations, once revealed her parenting style in a fascinating interview. While she admitted to being a "very strict" parent to her children, Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan Nanda, she acknowledged a different approach when it comes to her daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

During an appearance on the chat show hosted by fashion designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, Jaya Bachchan openly discussed her parenting style. When asked if she was as strict as a mother-in-law, she responded, "Strict? She's not my daughter. She's my daughter-in-law. Why should I be strict with her? I'm sure her mother has done that for her."

This distinction between parenting and in-law relationships was further elaborated on by Jaya. "There is a difference between a daughter and a daughter-in-law, you know. I mean, I don't know why, but you don't feel you need to respect your parents. With your in-laws, you can't do that," she shared.

Despite Jaya Bachchan's assertion of a strict parenting style, her son Abhishek disagreed, stating in a 2023 interview that his mother was "not strict," contrary to public perception.

The interview also touched on Jaya's evolving sense of identity, as she reflected on her journey from being a Bhaduri (her maiden name) to becoming a Bachchan. "And later on, things change – because today, I feel more a Bachchan than a Bhaduri," she said.

Jaya Bachchan's recent performance as the matriarch in Karan Johar's hit film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, alongside Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, and Dharmendra, showcased her enduring presence in the film industry.

This interview offers a fascinating glimpse into Jaya Bachchan's personal perspective on family dynamics, the evolving roles of women, and her own journey as a wife, mother, and public figure.
