Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn has started filming for his upcoming movie Son of Sardaar 2, the sequel to the 2012 film. He announced the start of filming on Instagram with a video showcasing moments from the set, including vibrant Holi shots, dance sequences, and his visit to a Gurudwara. The film is being shot in Scotland and directed by Vijay Kumar Arora.
The original Son of Sardaar, directed by Ashwni Dhir, was a remake of S. S. Rajamouli's Maryada Ramanna and starred Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, and Juhi Chawla. The sequel picks up where the predecessor ended and features several actors in cameo roles. However, Sanjay Dutt has been replaced by Ravi Kishan due to visa issues.
The announcement of Son of Sardaar 2 comes after the poor box-office performance of Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, which marked the lowest opening for Ajay Devgn in a decade. Meanwhile, Ajay also has the highly anticipated Singham Again in the pipeline, currently in the post-production stage.
