Vishal issues warning for this reason. Former TFPC President Vishal Accused of Misusing Funds, Ordered to Face Inquiry.
Former Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) President Vishal is facing allegations of misusing council funds during his tenure from 2017 to 2019. The TFPC, currently headed by Murali Ramasamy of Sri Thenandal Films, has ordered an inquiry into the matter after a government-appointed special officer uncovered financial irregularities.
According to a statement released by the TFPC, an audit revealed a loss of approximately ₹12 crores, with ₹7.5 crores missing from council bank deposits and ₹5 crores from income and expenditure between 2017 and 2019. Despite repeated requests for the return of the misused funds, Vishal has reportedly remained unresponsive.
The TFPC has requested producers and technicians working with Vishal to consult the association before commencing any projects.
Vishal, however, has refuted the allegations on social media, claiming that the funds were used for the welfare of struggling members of the TFPC, including education, medical insurance, and festival support. He further criticized the TFPC for failing to address crucial industry issues like double taxation and theater maintenance charges, challenging those he claims are "so-called producers" who haven't and will never produce films.
The TFPC's investigation is likely to shed further light on the alleged misuse of funds and determine the extent of Vishal's involvement. The outcome of the inquiry will have significant implications for the actor and the industry as a whole.
