"Vedaa" Faces Release Delay: Makers Appeal to CBFC for Urgent Certification

The release of "Vedaa," starring John Abraham and Sharvari, is in jeopardy as the film is yet to receive a clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), putting its intended August 15th release date in jeopardy.

On Thursday, the film's makers issued an official statement expressing their concern and urging for swift action from the CBFC to ensure the film's timely release.

The statement reads, “We, the producers of Vedaa, feel compelled to share with our fans and supporters that despite our best efforts, we are still to secure a clearance and certification from the CBFC of India." The production house emphasizes that they have complied with all regulations, submitting the film for certification eight weeks prior to its planned release date. "Vedaa" was screened on June 25th and subsequently advanced for review by the examining committee. However, there has been no response regarding the certification appeal since then.

The makers implore, “It is our earnest request and wish that these words reach those who are able to help us resolve and dissipate this impasse and have our film certified. August 15th is a special date that we are fortunate to find ourselves in a position to bring our film to fans of John Abraham and Nikkhil Advani, who have supported our previous releases Satyamev Jayate and Batla House on the same date."

They conclude, "Vedaa is a powerful, out-and-out entertaining film, inspired by current events. We believe it deserves to reach its audience. It is our sincere endeavor that we will be able to keep our appointment with you.”

"Vedaa," produced by Aseem Arora and backed by Zee Studios, Emmay Entertainment and JA Entertainment, features a stellar cast including Tamannaah Bhatia, Abhishek Banerjee, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Kshitij Chauhan.

The makers are hopeful for a swift resolution, allowing "Vedaa" to reach audiences on the intended date.
