It is known that the sequel to Iconic film, Indian / Bharateeyudu was released last Friday as Bharateeyudu 2 / Indian 2 / Hindustani 2 in multiple languages but achieved unanimous result. The film has garnered single talk everywhere that the film is nowhere close to its predecessor and tanked at the boxoffice. The makers which has bankrolled Kamal Haasan, Shankar's Indian 2 / Bharateeyudu 2 took to their social media handles to announce that the film, which is currently running in theatres has been trimmed by 12 minutes so that it would draw some crowds into the theatres.
"We heard you! Indian 2 is now trimmed by 12 minutes. Now watch the trimmed version of the film in cinemas near you," writes the post. Ever since the release of the film last week on July 12, the Shankar directorial has been receiving poor reviews from fans and critics who criticised the team for not matching the standards of the original film.
Indian was released in 1996 which stars Kamal Haasan as Senapathy, the freedom fighter-turned-vigilante who fights against corruption. In part two, Kamal Haasan reprises his role from the original film who returns from his sabbatical and declares a “second war of independence" as unemployment, corruption and lack of development plague society.
The ensemble cast of the film stars, Sj Suryah, Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Nedumudi Venu, Vivekh, Manobala, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, and Samuthirakani, among others. Cinematographer Ravi Varman, editor Sreekar Prasad and music director Anirudh are part of Bharateeyudu 2's technical crew.
