Darshana Rajendran On Karan Johar Remaking Hridayam In Hindi

Darshana reacts to Hridayam remake

Darshana on Karan Johar remaking Hridayam in Hindi. Malayalam actress Darshana Rajendran has reacted to the news of Karan Johar's Dharma Productions acquiring the rights to remake her critically acclaimed film "Hridayam" in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi.

In a recent interview, Darshana spoke about the universal appeal of the film, saying, "There are multiple conversations happening in various languages, but I'm not very glued into that. I was just a part of the filming but I haven't heard anything beyond what's there in the news. I do feel like there's some universality to the film, which is why people from everywhere are connecting to it."

She further explained that the 2022 film resonated with audiences across India due to its depiction of relatable human emotions, even though the college life depicted in the film differed from her own experience. "Human emotions are universal and that's why I found some kind of connection to the story. That's perhaps why it's being made in multiple languages, and I hope we get to watch them soon," she stated.

When asked about her own Bollywood plans, Darshana shared, "There are some scripts that have come to me. I'm in talks for a few. Readings and narrations are going on too. I'll definitely do them if they stay as exciting through the process."

"Hridayam," a coming-of-age romantic film directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, also features Pranav Mohanlal and Kalyani Priyadarshan. The film's success and its upcoming remakes highlight the universal appeal of its themes, and Darshana's comments suggest she is open to exploring opportunities in other film industries.
