Mahabharat Krishna aspire to be part of Kalki 2898 AD sequel. Nitish Bharadwaj, who rose to fame portraying Lord Krishna in the iconic BR Chopra's "Mahabharat," has joined the growing list of admirers for Nag Ashwin's upcoming epic, "Kalki 2898 AD." In an interview with News 18, Bharadwaj expressed his admiration for Ashwin's vision, particularly the film's unique blend of Mahabharat mythology with a dystopian future setting.
"Nag Ashwin has cleverly incorporated Mahabharat characters and the futuristic birth of Mahavishnu's last avatar, Kalki," said Bharadwaj. He further praised the film's production values, stating, "Hindi film producers should take inspiration from the South, as they are deeply rooted in our scriptures and epics, making their interpretations seem authentic. While 'Kalki 2898 AD' draws visual inspiration from 'Mad Max,' it stands apart because the story takes precedence over the sets and production design. Ashwin has seamlessly merged these two elements."
When asked if the film reminded him of his time shooting "Mahabharat," Bharadwaj admitted, "Yes, because the epic Mahabharat holds a special place in my heart. But also no, because Ashwin has created a completely different world."
The veteran actor even expressed his desire to reprise his role as Lord Krishna in a potential sequel, jokingly adding, "In the sequel, Ashwin won't need to hide Krishna's face; I'm available!"
"Kalki 2898 AD" intertwines multiple narratives from the Mahabharat with a futuristic dystopian setting. Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan's characters are directly inspired by figures from the epic.
