The next big film from South Indian film industry is Kamal Haasan and Shankar's next, Indian 2, which is gearing up for its theatrical release on July 12. The promotions are in full swing. Both Kamal and Shankar are doing rounds the clock promotions for the film as the release date is getting closer.
The makers of the film have released a video of a few trekkers who have scaled Mount Adams in the American capital to display the poster of Indian 2, with a caption that reads, 'Come Back Indian.' The sequel to the 1996 film Indian is directed by Shankar and stars Kamal Haasan as Senapathy, the freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption.
The ensemble cast of Indian 2 also includes Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, SJ Suryah, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Nedumudi Venu, Vivek, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, and Samuthirakani, among others. In the last press conference for the Indian sequel, Shankar also revealed that the film contains an animated version of RK Laxman's cartoon character, The Common Man.
Produced by Subaskaran under the banner of Lyca Productions, Indian 2 is all set to hit theatres on July 12 in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. There is also a third part to the franchise, which is in the post-production phase.
