Kangana Ranaut Emergency Is Now Releasing On September 6

Kangana Postponed Her Emergency

Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency will be released on September 6, she made the announcement on Tuesday. The film has been delayed multiple times before. It was earlier set to release in November last year but was delayed. Then, June 14 was set as the new release date which had to be postponed as well owing to Kangana’s campaign for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 where she won the seat from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.

Kangana also shared a new poster for the film which is based on the Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi during her reign from 1975 to 1977. In the caption, Kangana wrote, “The Beginning of the 50th Year of Independent India’s Darkest Chapter, Announcing Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency In Cinemas on 6th September 2024. The Explosive Saga of The Most Controversial Episode of The History of Indian Democracy, #EmergencyOn6Sept in cinemas worldwide.”

The film will mark Kangana's debut as a solo director and she also plays the titular role. She earlier co-directed the historical drama, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2020) along with Krish Jagarlamudi.

Emergency also features actors Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade and Vishak Nair. Noted writer Ritesh Shah has penned the screenplay and dialogues of the film. Emergency is produced by Kangana Ranaut, Renu Pitti and Umesh KR Bansal.
