Versatile Actor Vijay Sethupathi has reached a milestone recently. He has completed 50 films in his career. His 50th film titled, 'Maharaja' was released simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu on June 14. The film opened to excellent reviews and word of mouth. Maharaja has crossed Rs 50 crores at the worldwide box office. The crime drama film, is directed by Nithilan Saminathan.
Passion Studios, which is co-producing the film, took to their social media handles to announce that Maharaja has earned more than Rs 55.8 crores worldwide at the box office. "Maharaja shattering records with a lightning-fast 55.8+ crores globally in 6 days," they said.
Maharaja marks the 50th film of Vijay Sethupathi. Nithilan also wrote the dialogues for the film alongside Raam Murali. Maharaja also stars Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, and Natty Natraj in pivotal roles alongside Abhirami, Aruldoss, Munishkanth, Boys Manikandan, Singam Puli, Bharathiraja, Kalki, Vinod Sagar, and Sachana Namidass.
Maharaja is produced by Sudhan Sundaram through his Passion Studios banner and Jagadish Palanisamy under his banner, The Route. It has cinematography by Dinesh Purushothaman, music by B Ajaneesh Loknath, and editing by Philomin Raj. NV Prasad released the film in Telugu on commission basis under his NVR Cinemas Banner.
