Superstar Rajinikanth will be next seen in an action drama titled ‘Vettaiyan’. Helmed by T. J. Gnanavel of Jai Bhim (2021) fame. Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan is in the final stages of production which also has legendary Amitabh Bachchan in a crucial role.
Initially titled #Thalaivar170, it is scheduled for a worldwide release in October, 2024. According to the latest reports, Vettaiyan’s digital streaming rights have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video for a hefty price. However, the price remains undisclosed. There are reports that it's release might clash with NTR's pan India actioner 'Devara : Part 1' on October 10, 2024.
There’s been a lot of buzz surrounding the film on social media, with reports stating that Amazon Prime Video has acquired Vettaiyan’s digital rights for a whopping price. Director TJ Gnanavel assures that the movie will encompass all the elements fans expect from a Rajini film, with added social elements incorporated into the storyline.
Vettaiyan boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, Ritika Singh, GM Sundar, Rohini, and Rao Ramesh in pivotal roles. Lyca Productions is bankrolling this project on a large scale, while Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in to compose the background music and songs.
