Fans Burst Crackers In Theatres During Indian Rerelease Screening

Indian rerelease: Fans burst crackers

Fans burst crackers in theatres during Indian rerelease screening. The re-release of Shankar's iconic 1996 film "Indian," starring Kamal Haasan, Sukanya, Manisha Koirala, and Urmila Matondkar, has ignited a wave of nostalgia and excitement among fans.  The film, which tells the story of Senapathy, a vigilante fighting corruption and injustice, is set to be followed by a highly anticipated sequel, "Indian 2," releasing on July 12th.

Videos have surfaced online showcasing the overzealous enthusiasm of fans during the film's re-release, with some taking their celebrations to an extreme.

During a special screening for fans at Kamala Cinemas in Chennai, a video captured the electric atmosphere.  Fans cheered, screamed, and threw confetti as the scene of Kamal's character Senapathy smiling on screen was met with a deafening roar.  The excitement reached a crescendo when fireworks were lit inside the theatre, adding a dangerous element to the celebratory atmosphere.

Sun News released a separate video showcasing fans adorned in "Indian is back" t-shirts, eager to experience the film on the big screen after years.  The video also captured close-up shots of the fireworks being lit, raising concerns about potential damage and safety violations within the enclosed space.

"Indian" featured Kamal Haasan in dual roles as Senapathy, the freedom fighter turned vigilante, and his son Chandrabose, who initially lacked his father's ideals.  The film concluded with Senapathy's unwavering commitment to justice, even at the cost of sacrificing his own son, leaving audiences with a lasting impression.

"Indian 2" sees Kamal reprise his role, with Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, and Rakul Preet Singh joining the cast as new characters.  While rumors suggest that Kajal may play Amrithavalli, Senapathy's wife from the first film (originally played by Sukanya), the film's team has not confirmed this.  The sequel is expected to feature Senapathy's return to India from Hong Kong to aid someone in need.

Kamal Haasan, in addition to "Indian 2," is also set to star in Nag Ashwin's Telugu film "Kalki 2898 AD" and Mani Ratnam's "Thug Life," further solidifying his position as a leading figure in Indian cinema.  The re-release of "Indian" and the anticipation surrounding "Indian 2" serve as a testament to the film's enduring legacy and Kamal Haasan's unwavering star power.
