Prashanth Neel, the name which is not familiar to many in film industry till five years ago is now one of the most sought after director. The journey from being no one to the most successful pan India filmmaker needs tremendous talent and intense hardwork. Prashanth have them both in abundance and thus his third film became one of the biggest and highest grossers in Indian film industry. He brings a revolution in making action films with a new narrative style. Prashanth is the one who made Sandalwood flag fly high at the Pan India level.
Prashanth Neelakantapuram is born to a Telugu family which settled in Bengaluru. He has strong roots of Telugu and many of his relatives are in Telugu states. However Neel's sister is married to Kannada Hero Sri Murali. He made his first film with his brother-in-law, Sri Murali in the lead role titled Ugramm. The action film became a roaring success and is one of the highest grossers in Kannada films in 2014.
With the success of Ugram, Prasanth Neel flooded with offers and he decided to make two part KGF on a massive scale with Yash in the lead role. The first part KGF - Chapter 1 was released in December, 2018 and became an instant blockbuster. To everyone's surprise besides Sandalwood, KGF 1 took Tollywood, Bollywood, Kollywood and Mollywood by Strom and became a smash hit accross the country in all languages.
With the success of KGF 1, humongous expectations were formed on KGF Chapter 2 which was initially scheduled to release on July, 2021. But, the filming was delayed due to the second wave of COVID and released in April, 2022. The film became enormous hit in all languages garnering Rs 1300 Crores globally. With KGF series, Neel became a hotshot director and everyone is after him to sign for their films. He did Salaar with Prabhas and scored a pan India success clashing with Shahrukh Khan's Dunki. Currently he is busy with the pre-production works of #NTRNeel with NTR.
