Vishwak Sen not the first choice for Gangs of Godavari

GOG not meant for Mass Ka Das

Vishwak Sen's upcoming action drama, "Gangs of Godavari," is set to hit theatres this Friday, promising an intense cinematic experience. Directed by Krishna Chaitanya, the film features Neha Sshetty and Anjali in pivotal roles. But the journey of "Gangs of Godavari" has been an interesting one, as revealed by director Krishna Chaitanya himself.

In a recent interview, Chaitanya shared that the film's genesis began with a collaboration with artist Anand Ramaraju, and the initial concept was pitched to Sharwanand. However, Sharwanand requested to put the project on hold due to his previous film being an emotional drama. This delay created a gap in the film's timeline, leading to further challenges as another of Chaitanya's projects also faced a setback.

Fearful of the potential for further delays, Chaitanya decided to approach Vishwak Sen with the story. Sen was captivated by the narrative and enthusiastically agreed to take on the lead role, revitalizing the project.

Now, as the film prepares for its release, the question remains: was Sharwanand's decision a strategic move or a missed opportunity? Only time will tell how "Gangs of Godavari" fares at the box office, but the film's unique journey from conception to release adds a layer of intrigue to its anticipation.

Produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, "Gangs of Godavari" has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, further adding to its appeal.
