Mohan Raja - A Remake Specialist

Mohan Raja, the eldest son of senior Editor and Producer Mohan finds interest in films since his childhood. He started his career in Film industry as a Director with a remake. After his Successful debut he continued making remakes and scored successes. Mohan Raja has earned a fame as a specialist in delivering successful remakes. He showed his ability as a storyteller by retaining the crux of original and blending it with sensibilities of the language he is making the film in. 

Mohan Raja debuted as director with Telugu film Hanuman Junction which is a remake of Malayalam film Thenkasipattanam. Hanuman Junction features Arjun, Jagapathi Babu and Venu in lead roles. It became a superhit for its hilarious entertainment. Then Mohan Raja shifted to Tamil and made remake of Telugu Blockbuster Jayam with the same name starring his brother Ravi. With its success both Raja and Raji adopted Jayam to their stage names as a prefix. 

After Jayam, Raja and Ravi collaborated for the remake of Amma Nanna O Tamilammayi in Tamil as M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi. It also became a success at the boxoffice. Then the duo collaborated for Tamil remakes of Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana as Something Something... Unakkum Enakkum and Bommarillu as Santosh Subramaniam turning both the films into Superhits. After making Telugu blockbuster Kick in Tamil as Thillalangadi with his brother Jayam Ravi, Mohan Raja for the first time in Tamil worked with another hero other than his brother for a film. He directed Velayudham with Vijay which is a remake of Telugu film Azad.

Mohan Raja after a brief break, came up with a original script Thani Oruvan starring Jayam Ravi. The film became a rousing success and unveiled a new dimension of Mohan Raja as a director. It was later remade in Telugu as Dhruva with Ram Charan. After his career biggest success, Thani Oruvan, Mohan Raja came with another film Velaikkaran starring Siva Kartikeyan, Nayanthara and Fahadh Faasil. It won critical acclaim for its plot. Mohan Raja after a longtime back to Telugu for remaking Malayalam blockbuster Lucifer with Megastar Chiranjeevi as Godfather. He delivered another successful remake with Godfather. Now once again he is collaborating with Megastar Chiranjeevi with a new story penned by BVS Ravi. Official announcement will be out soon.
