Kiara to represent India at Women in Cannes 2024. Kiara Advani is the latest addition to the list of Bollywood luminaries gracing the esteemed Cannes Film Festival this year, following in the footsteps of Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai, Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, and others. According to a report by Bombay Times, Kiara will be attending the Red Sea Film Foundation's Women in Cinema Gala dinner at Cannes 2024, an event hosted by Vanity Fair that aims to celebrate the achievements of women in the entertainment industry worldwide.
Variety has also reported that Cannes Film Festival 2024 will feature four panel discussions focusing on global incentives and filming, to be held at La Plage Des Palmes on May 18, 2024. Kiara is slated to participate in the Red Sea International Film Festival panel, adding her perspective to the discourse.
Returning to the festival as ambassadors for L'Oreal are actors Aishwarya Rai and Aditi Rao Hydari. While Aishwarya is a regular attendee at Cannes, Aditi made her debut at the prestigious event in 2022.
India's presence at Cannes 2024 holds special significance. The 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, scheduled from May 14 to 25, will feature a 'Bharat Parv' hosted by India, showcasing the country's diverse creative opportunities to esteemed dignitaries and delegates from around the world. The initiative, announced by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, will see a delegation comprising representatives from central and state governments, along with industry members, highlighting India's creative economy at Marche du Films.
This marks the first time that India will host a Bharat Parv at the Cannes Film Festival, offering a platform to engage with film luminaries, directors, producers, buyers, and sales agents globally, while showcasing the nation's rich tapestry of creative talent and opportunities.
