Mahesh Babu Guntur Kaaram Completed 100 Days In 2 Theatres

Superstar Chasing Megastar Record

Superstar Mahesh Babu's latest family action drama Guntur Kaaram directed by Trivikram has completed 100 days. The film has completed theatrical run in two theatres. This comes despite the film receiving a mixed reception from critics and audiences upon release during the Sankranti festival. While it didn't draw the massive crowds typically associated with a Mahesh Babu starrer, ‘Guntur Kaaram’ managed to stay afloat for a while.

The film has received severe flak on its release day. But, the film managed to survive during festival season. Especially the undeniable image Mahesh has among the family audience has saved the film to a greta extent. Trivikram should also be given a fair share in this as he also has crowd drawing ability whenever he made a family drama.

The 100-day run was limited to two specific locations: Venkateswara Theatre in Chilakaluripeta, Andhra Pradesh and Nataraja Theatre in Karnataka.

Mahesh Chasing Chiranjeevi's Record

There's speculation that fans might have played a role in keeping the movie running for 100 days at these locations. Reviews for ‘Guntur Kaaram’ were lukewarm, and one song, ‘Kurchi Madathapetti,’ even faced online criticism. However, the song has defied expectations by surpassing a massive 200 million views. This is Mahesh's 19th consecutive 100th day film at atleast one theatre since Arjun.

Megastar Chiranjeevi holds the record for  highest number of successive 100 days films that ran at atleast one center from Hitler to Sye Raa. His 20 film record was broken by Acharya which didn't have a 100 day theatrical run. Now, with Guntur Kaaram, Mahesh stands with 19 films, just two films away to break this record.
